Maersk Projects Collection

During the last 4 years I have been collaborating with Spring Production, being my main client A.P. Moller – Maersk with all their sub-brands. Here a brief summary of our projects worked.

Maersk every day,  contribute to an inspiring workplace where they embrace their pioneering spirit, value their diversity and fulfil their potential for their customers, their company and each other.

As a brand ambassador is simply being conscious of what we can all do, as individuals and together, to create a strong and consistent brand experience and working environment for their customers, stakeholders and colleagues worldwide.

Magazines Digital and Printing

Maersk develop several Printing and Digital magazines per year, it can be Campaign art-books, Annual Reports or their internal Post magazine.
Regular planning is essential,  with the collaboration of copyrighters in Maersk Headquarters the content of the issues  start several months before the launch and my team and I start a wide critical design view on the publication’s role considering if it will be for internal or external communication . It is a process of continuous improvement, perfecting and inventing.  Deciding on the visual content is not so much writing down a list of ideas, but developing a personal attitude to them.

Presentations

 

The main purpose of the presentation is not only reflect the brand, it’s a visual support to get maximum audience attention, helping them to relate the presenter’s word to PowerPoint graphics. We develop different Master templates  to help stakeholders to express better their ideas with a variety of editable visual content.
Beside that we produce Printing material in Powerpoint, something that has been my personal challenge as Designer since I would prefer to use design softwares instead. We decide to do this to give an extra value to Maersk’s employees without the need of a design background, offering them versatility and freedom when they are in remote areas. #Intelligence_is_the_ability_to_adapt_to_change.

Brandguidelines

 

With the support of Frontify, that allows anyone – with or without design skills – to quickly access the different brands, we customize this platform for each brand to have everything in one place to download logos, fonts, and assets, and create templates easy to use for any user, and to give guidance in how to use the Brand.

Pictograms & icons

 

Our icons and pictograms are essential, functional tools in our design toolbox for all the brands. They allow us to present information and data across digital applications and printed material. Consistent icon use enables us to add new levels of intuitive navigation and brand recognition.

Pictograms are commonly used more in content to illustrate a product or service. And icons, which are simple and have a more functional purpose such as navigation or interaction points.

The characteristics of these assets are inspired by both the Maersk typeface and Maersk Star. Their functionality is not only limited to a digital use, we explore their usability as main support in several communication products as banners, posters, etc.

Meanwhile the distinctive icon style for APM Terminal takes inspiration from the lines in their logo.

Posters & Rollups

 

The use of dynamic titles it becomes a form that makes Maersk communications more engaging and instantly recognizable. A tab style has been created in all our templates for easy application of the dynamic headline. This is always based on the document column grid. Simply tab out each line to the desired depth. We always try to create a composition that captures the essence of the headline. Sometimes a small tab of one line is all that is needed. Other times, a more expressive composition may be necessary. However, it is not compulsory to always have a tabbed headline.

Meanwhile for APMT Terminal sister brand follow left alignment, both brands use their unique Maersk typeface has been specifically designed to encapsulate the values and characteristics of Maersk and it plays an integral role in brand recognition and tone of voice.

Merchandising

 

For each campaign Maersk launch produce a variety of merchandising available to the employees to purchase online. It can be from t-shirts, notebooks, mugs, keychains, etc.

Storyboards

 

With the collaboration of Motion team, we produce animated assets for Social Media or animated infographics attached to presentations. Maersk provides a script, and we develop the storyboard for approval before Motion team implement the animation.

Social Media

 

Web banners are an integral part of Maersk communications. We develop a series of templates to accommodate the various formats. Due to the varying sizes and constraints of web banners, some formats will allow for more complex content whilst will be more restricted to simple applications. Simple animations may also feature in the production of social media material and help create a more engaging experience.

Illustrations & Infographics

 

Illustration is an important part of Maersk toolbox. As a company, they have a wide range of products and services, and often photography does not successfully communicate what can often be quite abstract concepts. This is where illustration comes in. It helps simplify very complex concepts through a more engaging expression. In this section, you will find the fundamental principles for how to create and work with our illustrations.
